Our team is developing the next generation of security screening solutions for airports worldwide while maintaining a large deployed fleet.  To help lead this effort, Analogic is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Principal Sustaining Software Engineer to be part of a team producing industry leading technology for Airport Security.



Responsible for software projects of great complexity, substance and economic value in the field of Aviation Security.  Requires the ability to simultaneously manage several projects of different scope while actively contributing to the software efforts required.  Interact with internal and industry stakeholders to understand product needs. Direct and perform testing and release changes. Conceive and drive completion of major features. Port Analogic device drivers and applications to new operating systems and computer hardware.  Experience with the design and architecture of embedded control systems, high reliability multiplex networks and/or user workstations.


  • Lead all sustaining efforts.
  • Port device drivers and applications to newer operating systems.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to define requirements.
  • Develop new features and address defects with existing products.
  • Prepare engineering test specifications and procedures.
  • Direct and perform software testing.
  • Mentor and supervise team members assigned to projects.
    Communicate complex concepts in written and verbal form. Create technical reports, publications, specifications, product designs test plans, and release notes.  Plan and conduct research, design and development for all assignments. 



  • BSCS or related degree, plus 15 years of experience or equivalent.
  • Multiple software architectures and hardware.
  • Proven experience in multi-threaded programming and distributed systems in a Linux development environment.
  • Extensive knowledge and production programming experience in C/C++ in a Linux development environment.
  • Experience with Linux device drivers.  Windows device drivers are a plus.
  • Extensive background with control systems.
  • Prior experience with imaging technology such as CT preferred, but not required.
  • US Citizenship Required
