Founded in 1967, Analogic Corporation has become the leading provider of advanced security screening technology for the aviation industry.  Our high-speed Computed Tomography (CT) Explosive Detection Systems meet the highest standards for automated threat detection and play a key role in keeping the flying public safe.  We have an engineering culture of excellence, with over 200 patents assigned in the last years alone. 

 

Our team is developing the next generation of security screening solutions for airports worldwide while maintaining a large deployed fleet.  To help lead this effort, Analogic is looking for a highly motivated and skilled Principal Sustaining Software Engineer to be part of a team producing industry leading technology for Airport Security.

 

SUMMARY:

Responsible for software projects of great complexity, substance and economic value in the field of Aviation Security.  Requires the ability to simultaneously manage several projects of different scope and complexity. Interacts with internal and industry stakeholders to understand product needs. Lead efforts and contribute to the implementation of software solutions. Direct and perform testing and releases changes. Conceive and drive completion of major features, new methodologies, significant procedural, architectural and technology shifts.  Experience with the design and architecture of embedded control systems, high reliability multiplex networks and/or user workstations.

 

Responsibilities

DUTIES:

  • Maintain multiple software architectures and hardware platforms.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to define requirements.
  • Complete design details and develops methods to satisfy design requirements.
  • Prepare engineering test specifications and procedures.
  • Direct and perform software testing.
  • Mentor and supervise team members assigned to projects.
  • Communicate complex concepts in written and verbal form. Create technical reports, publications, specifications, product designs test plans, and release notes.  Plan and conduct research, design and development for all assignments. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BSCS or related degree, plus 10 years of experience or equivalent.
  • Substantial background with control systems.
  • Proven experience in multi-threaded programming and distributed systems.
  • Experience with Linux device drivers.
  • Excellent Object-Oriented programming skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and production programming experience in C/C++.
  • Prior experience with imaging technology such as CT preferred, but not required.
  • US Citizenship required

 

LOCATION:

The position is based at Analogic’s headquarters in Peabody, MA.
