Our motion control group is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team to help develop a wide variety of customer oriented technical content. The person will work closely with Electrical Engineers, Applications & Software Engineers, Program Managers and other Subject Matter Experts. The ideal candidate has the enthusiasm and skills necessary to embrace ownership of all documents, assume responsibility for generating new material and ensure that existing documents are kept up-to-date and accurate.

Job Type: Contract

Contract Length :5-6 months


  • Work with the engineers to develop Software & Hardware User Guides, Application Notes and Product Datasheets
  • Ensure that new and existing documents and content are up-to-date, accurate and under proper revision control.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred
  • 3 or more years of experience as a technical writer
  • Experience in creating content for the Electrical Engineering industry
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong background in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in Adobe InDesign or other desktop publishing tools
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator for creating and editing technical drawings
  • Extremely well organized and known for attention to detail
  • Ability and interest to learn and become well versed in product line features and model numbering conventions
  • Working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) concepts (revision control, change orders etc.) and software such as Agile
  • Ability and interest to develop a basic understanding of the technical aspects of industrial products containing software and hardware
  • Ability to work well with others
