POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Sr manufacturing manager will be responsible for managing day to day manufacturing operations in the Peabody Security and CT assembly and test areas as well as implementing and sustaining the company continuous improvement programs including Lean / 6 sigma and 6S programs. Directs scheduling and sequencing of work, as well as production innovation to optimize production efficiencies. Establishes long term objectives and guidelines for managing and monitoring product line performance and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and ensures all manufactured products and repair services meet Analogic, Regulatory and Customer quality standards
  • Leads cost reduction efforts and process improvements for the product lines to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness. Directly involved with Labor standards development and maintenance
  • Leads scheduling for the product lines to ensure that operations run according to SAP/ERP driven production requirements assuring on time delivery to our customers
  • Leads the sequencing of work across multiple shifts, to ensure smooth operations and optimal use & efficiency of resources
  • Works closely with quality, planning, materials and logistics to ensure availability of all required materials to the production lines
  • Partners with customers and product line business owners to understand and support/correct needs and issues
  • Manages and supervises the work of multiple manufacturing production disciplines in the Manufacturing Operations function
  • Develops and maintains clearly defined metrics to assure optimal, standardized processes. Cultivates an action-biased team focused on continuous improvement based on KPI improvement for manufacturing operations
  •  Works closely with design engineering and product line business owners to assess customer needs and supports the development of process capabilities required to enable state of the art technologies

  • Lean practitioner with proven track record of implementing; visual management/6S, value stream mapping, standards work, metrics boards and standup meetings

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

 

  • BS in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Operations
  • Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience managing manufacturing operations utilizing lean processes in a continuous improvement environment
  • Demonstrated experience with Change Management and Value Stream Mapping. Proven experience with WIP management modeling and Cycle Time Reduction
  • Experience implementing and applying Lean manufacturing tools & principles
  • Extensive 6 S knowledge and proven implementation track record
  • Strong background in continuous improvement focused on operations, engineering, quality, supply chain and product management
  • Experience deploying and/or leading new product or process introduction for large and complex systems preferred
  • Product costing and budget development
  • Contract Mfg. experience preferred
