Responsible for providing engineering support to manufacturing department and operations. This position involves working cross functionally to ensure manufacturing engineering practices adhere to engineering standards, corporate quality and customer specifications.
Provides engineering resources for the support of new and existing products in manufacturing.
Designs and develops product specific manufacturing and/or test fixtures for manufacturing, utilizing CAD.
Reviews and evaluates proposed and processed engineering changes and or specification requirements and acts as technical liaison with production planning and design engineering personnel.
Writes manufacturing procedures for new equipment and processes. Creates labor routings through work factor/time study analysis.
Analyzes complex engineering drawings and develops understandable manufacturing procedures.
Evaluates manufacturing capital equipment and coordinates engineering activities concerned with procurement and installation.
Directs and trains manufacturing personnel in proper manufacturing procedures.
Investigates and initiates corrective action of manufacturing problems.
Confers with senior level engineering and technical personnel to resolve complex technical problems.
Attends all design reviews, analyzes production limitations and standards and may recommend revision of specification when indicated.
May perform duties of lower level positions as required.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, tool and fixture design, time standards, and mechanical assemblies.
Thorough knowledge of Solidworks or similar CAD software. Python database knowledge desirable.
BS degree preferred in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering, related technical field or equivalent and six to eight years related experience.
