  • Overview

    Hands on engineering leadership position that drives project to closure and facilitates a smooth transition of innovation and new technology into product development within the power amplifier business.  The role demands a person with strong working knowledge of a wide array of disciplines within power electronics, as well as knowledge of a complete product lifecycle from conception to sunset.  This person must be able to create an environment of trust and intellectual honesty that can foster both design and personal growth.  The team consists of electrical, mechanical, software, control systems engineers and assemblers/technicians. The NPI team consists of all functions to build products within Analogic

    Responsibilities

     

    • Generate advances in applied technology for the business unit through individual contribution and technical leadership of the engineering team.
    • Deliver on technology that supports the product development roadmaps identified in conjunction with the business development, engineering and program leadership.
    • Provide technical drive, direction, and guidance, as well as hands-on problem solving to product development teams in critical need.
    •  Responsible for identification of profitable innovations, providing vision and a directed development plan that mitigates risk and ensures project success.
    • Ability to assess staff capabilities; cultivate drive and high performance that align with the division objectives.
    • Develop and cultivate a strong technical relationship with customers
    • Be willing to be the first in, last out and manage by example.

     

    SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

     

    • Technical leadership in research and development of power electronics, engineering research and product development.
    • Knowledge of system architectures required for high power.
    • Knowledge of SiC and GaN components and their touted capabilities and shortcomings. Working knowledge is a plus.
    • Well versed in technologies and trends, power conversion topologies, thermal analysis, EM field theory, mechanical systems, and control systems.
    • Working knowledge of compliance and EN60601 standards a plus
    • Experience creating and vetting intellectual property a plus
    • Experience with the solar, EV and AGV markets a strong plus

    Qualifications

    • MSEE degree, PhD a plus
    • Minimum 15 years related experience in power product design and development.
    • Minimum five years experience leading a technical staff of over 10 people.  Experience in electrical design within the high-power space a plus.
    • Strong leadership and communication experience are required.
    • Requires a self-starter, as role location is a satellite from the main headquarters in Peabody, Ma.
