Has full responsibility for a specified manufacturing function, and/or has technical and manufacturing responsibility for a specialized product line.
Develops, implements and controls production resources to manufacture high performance, cost effective, competitive products.
Directs electronic or mechanical assembly and/or test of complex systems and subsystems. Provides strategic leadership for assigned manufacturing function.
Supervises employees with considerable variations in skill and pay, some of which possess very high technical skill levels. Leads, motivates and develops subordinates.
Meets production goals, both in terms of quality and quantity. Plans, conducts and directs test and/or assembly processes, requiring intimate knowledge of good manufacturing practices and the ability to develop and apply sound manufacturing methods, technology and procedures. Monitors production schedules, product costs and resource allocations and makes appropriate recommendations and changes. Ensures product introductions and changes are implemented smoothly and in accordance with plans.
Prepares field return analyses, capital appropriation recommendations, inventory and expense requirements, department budgets, capacity planning and production and status reports.
Assures product performance to customer specification. Proposes changes in methods or use of materials, which would result in cost reduction, more efficient operation or customer satisfaction. Ensures work standards, achieve maximum production efficiency and quality.
Establishes and maintains contact with customers.
BSIE, BSME or technical degree or equivalent, and eight years of related manufacturing experience.
