  • Overview


    Maintains and repairs the facility’s structure and equipment, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.



    • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
    • Coordinate and support on site vendors and contractors.
    • Support Manufacturing by daily safe removal of used chemicals and provides new chemicals.
    • Work with Gigabiters to dispose of sensitive parts and scrap materials.
    • Do snow removal and ice /salt management as needed in conjunction with contractors.
    • Do painting and general duties to maintain positive appearance of the facility.
    • Assists facilities Supervisor/Manager to maintain daily operations of the physical facility.
    • Completes facilities maintenance, installation and relocation assignments such as moving equipment, office fixtures, furniture, etc. Maintains building performing painting, plumbing, minor electrical wiring, minor structural modifications and other related maintenance activities.       This may include assisting with chair / table / other set up for company functions.
    • Performs evaluation and repair of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment.
    • Works with outside contractors as needed on major HVAC, plumbing, and electrical and repairs.
    • Operates site equipment as needed, using hand and power tools as necessary.
    • Follows established safety, quality, and environmental standards.
    • Maintains documentation including building drawings, power diagrams, and code related documentation.
    • Makes periodic or special inspections of the premises to determine necessary repair work.
    • Performs work such as carpentry or painting in the construction, repair, or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs, or office fixtures.
    • Repairs routine breakdowns and works with process engineering when necessary on non-routine break downs.
    • Assists in maintaining several off site storage areas. Will be expected to take and retrieve material / equipment from storage when requested, including production / test / facility related equipment, surplus equipment, and seasonal facility equipment. May purchase facility supplies and repair items from local retailers when directed to do so.
    • Maintains a willing-to-help attitude at all times while maintaining a proper prioritization of duties.   Follow all safety and environmental policies and procedures at all times. Completes special projects as assigned.
    • Maintains a flexible work schedule and is willing to accommodate unplanned overtime or alternate shift assignments as well as a willingness to respond off normal hours during evenings, weekends or holidays to facility emergency calls as needed.




    • Typically requires a minimum of 4+ years of related experience
    • Typically requires a 2-year technical degree or equivalent certified training
    • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions is required
    • Requires, at a minimum, familiarity with the basic functions of digital multi-meter (DMM), Oscilloscopes, frequency counters and signal generators
    • Must have some level of understanding of analog circuit and digital circuit theory, Ohm’s law, power formulas, passive filters and basic semiconductors
    • Ability to repair products by using a history record of similar problems
    • Basic computer skills required
    • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
