    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Performs limited electronic, electromechanical, mechanical and support production assembly and functions of a repetitive nature to build and assemble routine units.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions Statement(s)

    • May perform routine tasks in preparation for assembly such as cutting wire to specified size, stripping, tinning, or bending wire parts, wiring and fastening terminal connections.
    • Assembles and installs various electrical or electronic components where operation and sequence are specified by blueprints, diagrams, or established operations practices.
    • Uses various common hand tools such as wire strippers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers. 
    • May operate automatic and semi-automatic assembly/production equipment. 
    • Notifies group leader or supervisor of quality or other issues. 
    • May be assigned to Wiring, Epoxy, Final Assembly/Lensing, and other areas. 
    • May perform solder touch-up or solder of parts as a secondary operation. 
    • May train other assemblers. 
    • May complete other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    ESSENTIAL EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

     

    Education:

    High School or equivalent plus 1 or more years of related experience. IPC/JSTD preferred.

     

    Experience:

    Acquires job skills and learns work standards and procedures in order to complete routine tasks.

     

    Specializes Knowledge and Experience:

    Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks.

    Ability to follow written and verbal instructions is required.
