    Copley Controls is part of Analogic Corporation, a manufacturer of medical and security imaging systems.  Copley is a worldwide leader in high performance motion solutions for OEMs in the semiconductor, life sciences, automated assembly/inspection, and COTS military industries.

    Our motion control group has a position available for a motivated, hardworking Engineering Technician to work on our engineering team under the guidance of experienced engineers. This position is a 2-month assignment.

    Copley motor drives are the most innovative in the industry and employ a wide variety of hardware and software technologies.

    Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate will have the following Education, Skills and Experience

    • Associates Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics or equivalent desired.
    • Two or more years of hands-on experience building and repairing test fixtures, equipment rack assembles and cables in an engineering development environment.
    • Ability to understand and work from schematics, wire run lists and mechanical drawings. and bills of material.
    • Ability to use hand tools and other shop equipment to build electro-mechanical assemblies in support of product evaluation and testing.
    • Ability to conduct initial shakeout tests of assembled equipment racks in accordance with written test plans and similar instructions.
    • Working proficiency with test equipment including multimeters and bench electronics assembly tools including soldering irons.
    • Must be able to work effectively in small team environment.
    • Must be able to follow specific direction as well as work with some/limited supervision.
    • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work safely in a lab environment.
    • Must be fluent in reading, writing and understanding English.

     

    Responsibilities include

    • Support the Engineering, New Product Development and Customer Applications teams by building large custom rack based product test set-ups.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to work occasional overtime to meet project needs is also a plus

    This position is based in Canton, Massachusetts. Some very limited travel to our Peabody facility may be possible.  Normal working hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm.
