  • Overview

    The Sr. Human Resources Specialist works closely with site Management Team, the Regional HR Business Partner and Corporate HR to administer all site HR activities.  The Sr. HR Specialist will handle day to day responsibilities, escalating issues to HR Management when needed. Works to promote an inclusive and positive culture where top performance is recognized and rewarded.


    • Coordinates hiring actions, including candidate screening and employee onboarding programs.
    • Ensures compliance with Federal as well as State labor laws and regulations.
    • Provides guidance to managers and supervisors in interpretation of policies and procedures to assure consistency of application and administration. 
    • Assists in resolving employee relations issues and facilitate conflict resolution between employees and supervisors.
    • Works with the HR Business Partner to implementing Human Resources processes, programs, and practices as necessary.
    • Works with management and HR Business Partner on employee retention, performance issues, compensation guidelines, and the application of company policies and procedures.
    • Coordinates training and development programs. 
    • Address minor employee relations issues, such as work complaints or other employee concerns. Refer major employee relations issues, such as, but not limited to, harassment or other alleged illegal activity, to senior HR staff.
    • Prepare and maintain, approve employment records related to events or changes, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, ensuring all employment actions are in compliance with local, state and federal employment requirements.
    • Monitor attendance to ensure continued compliance with company policies.
    • Assists in the salary administration process.  Reviews salary increases, requests for re-classifications, and grade changes; recommends appropriate actions. 
    • Coordinates and assists in the administration of benefits.
    • Performs additional assignments per manager’s direction. 


    • 3-5 years of relevant Human Resources experience
    • Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s preferred.
    • Demonstrate high level of professionalism and independence working within a confidential environment.
    • Knowledge of State and Federal labor laws.
    • Strength in establishing trust and building strong relationships throughout organization.
    • Must display a strong customer service focus and respond to, the needs/concerns of employees.
    • Team player with proven ability to work collaboratively within the department and cross-departmentally.
    • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
    • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, while demonstrating strong attention to detail and appreciation of deadlines, with minimal supervision.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to recognize potential issues and problems, know when to escalate and to propose solutions.
    • Demonstrate competence in resolving issues.
    • Strong computer skills required, with proficiency in MS Office.
