Overview

Copley Controls, a business unit of Analogic Corporation, is a worldwide leader in high
performance motion solutions. In end applications ranging from semiconductor manufacturing
tools to laboratory automation machinery to satellite tracking, Copley motor drives deliver world
class performance. Our motion control group is seeking a Technical Communications
Specialist to join our team and take ownership of developing a wide variety of customer oriented
technical content. This content includes product datasheets, user guides, application notes,
selection guides and brochures for publication in print and on our web site.
The person will work closely with applications engineers, project software & hardware engineers,
program managers and other subject matter experts. The ideal candidate has the enthusiasm
and skills necessary to embrace ownership of all documents, assume responsibility for generating
new material and ensure that existing documents are kept up-to-date and accurate.

Responsibilities

• Using verbal, written and graphical input from subject matter experts, generate product
datasheets, user manuals and similar customer oriented technical content.
• Ensure that new and existing documents and content are kept up-to-date, accurate and under
proper revision control
• Implement and enforce style and format guidelines consistent with the Copley brand across all
customer oriented documents
• Announce the release of new content to the team as soon as it is available and make sure it is
rolled-out to the website in a timely and accurate manner.

Qualifications

A BS in Communications or similar field
• 1 or more years of experience as a technical writer OR technical writing specific coursework
• Strong written communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of MS Word
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe InDesign
• Extremely well organized and known for attention to detail
• Ability and interest to learn and become well versed in product line features and model
numbering conventions
• Working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) concepts (revision control, change
orders etc.) and software such as Agile
• Ability and interest to develop a basic understanding of the technical aspects of industrial
products containing software and hardware
• Ability to work well with others
