Overview

Analogic’s Power Systems group, a leading supplier of high technology products, is looking for a dynamic mechanical engineer to work on the challenging aspects of thermal management and packaging of our high-power products. Analogic’s power products are used to drive state of the art MRI systems, semiconductor fabrication equipment and other specialty applications around the world.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical design tasks that deliver packaging solutions. 
  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of diverse factors, including 1) understanding of mechanical design requirements, in order to establish, create and develop engineering designs from conceptual layout through detailed design 2) integrate component hardware into subsystems 3) develop and integrate new technologies and processes into current designs 4) prepare and release design documentation, and optimize design solutions to ensure design for manufacturability.  
  • Plans, conducts and reports on mechanical engineering research, design, development, and manufacturing engineering assignments.  Reviews progress of various projects and evaluates results. Responsible for reporting on work efforts and results, including costs, methods and staffing.
  • Frequently interacts with customers and peer group, normally involving matters of mechanical design. Often a part of a cooperative effort among members of a project team.
  • May prepare and conduct formal design reviews with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

  • BSME degree or equivalent and up to five years of related work experience.  Some experience with product design, FEA programs, solid modeling, and complex electromechanical systems required. 
  • Familiar with SolidWorks as well as MS Office suite and MS Project.  Must be capable of conducting FEA analyses and have good understanding of testing and certification processes and procedures. 
  • Experience in electronics packaging, especially thermal management of power electronics assemblies
  • Comfortable interfacing with customers and suppliers
  • Must be able to work full-time schedule in our Canton, MA office
